Honest question as I'm not a musician at all : why is Jade playing an acoustic guitar while Hunter is playing an electric bass? Is this to preserve the character of the song?
Probably just preference, or doesn't own an acoustic bass. However, most acoustic basses are too quiet, lacking the punch and clarity of an acoustic guitar (unless plugged in). Just using a regular electric bass maintains the clarity and tone of the bass and maintains a soundstage balance among the other instruments.
